Welcome to my insurance agency technology consulting website!  I am so excited you made it for a visit.  In my past 25 plus years in the industry the one thing that I have enjoyed more than anything is helping people.    Whether they were agency clients, colleagues at the agencies I worked or colleagues in the indsutry every minute of it made me realize consulting and speaking is what I need to do when I grow up.  I think I'm getting close to grown up so I'm giving it a shot!

IMPORTANT NOTE:  As of January 1, 2011 I am serving on the Board of ASCnet.  As a result I am unable to do any consulting work.  Once my board duties are completed I will once again be able to offer consulting.

Ever hear of Claims Download?? 

Ok well, if you didn't know it existed it does!!!  Currently Applied and NASA both have it and several carriers.   AMS is in the works.  Claims Download is my baby, I spearheaded it through the industry from when it was just a dream of mine to seeing Applied implement it in August 2007.  

Remember, why do clients buy insurance? So they are covered at the time of a loss.  Why go to an independent agent for insurance vs. the direct writers? So you have a trusted advisor to help you through the process.  Claims Download is a huge time saver for agents so they have all the details of a claim in their system as well as being notified of a loss that is directly reported to a carrier.  

Maintaining claims in your agency management system allows an agency owner to run reports and know if there are claims that are going to affect their loss ratio, if there are claims they need to get involved in or if a client is costing them money vs. making them money.

Hurricane season is coming, just think if your agency is hit with a storm and all your clients have claims as well as your agency is temporarily non-operational, how are you going to handle all of those claims?  Claims Download allows for the direct reports to be entered and updated in your system the day your agency is once again operational.  Now you can spend the time following up and counseling clients vs. entering claims data.

My Dad is funny, he's been sending my website all over the place.  The feedback is, I need to put his name on the site so my Dad is Larry Jurgensen.  He was an Aetna Prime Agent in the 80's.  The agency name was Jurgensen Brokerage on Long Island.    The agency was a Gemini Agency and that is the first agency management system I worked on.  Dad also worked with Bruce Westman (for everyone who knows him or doesn't he is a top Vertafore guy) to develop the accounting program for Gemini II that became Sagitta.    I did a bunch of pilot uploads and download for Gemini during the 80's and was extensively involved in the Long Island Gemini Users Group (the Ducks).........

I am in the process of moving back to Florida so been a little out of touch.  I updated my contact phone number and will be updating more when I get down to FL....I leave on the 31st and will be up and running on August 5th in Palm City, FL!

Ok, it's been a while....after getting to FL and working hard, I decided to buy an insurance agency!  So I'm performing a dual role.....I just got back from the Applied TENCon and had a great time with all my friends as well as making new friends and teaching lots and lots of sessions!

I'm working on some updates to my site as....I also wanted to add that I am now ACE (ACORD Certified Expert) Certified!  Any ACORD questions let me know!!!   Been very busy with my agency and have put some of my consulting to the side but I'm back and will be toggling between both the agency and consulting.

I have had some questions as to why I have not been active on my Consulting lately so I thought I would clarify.  Effective January 1, 2011 I became a member of the Board of Directors of ASCnet, as a result I have not been doing any consulting.  Once I am no longer a Board member I will once again actively be a consultant along with being an agency owner.  In the meantime, I am still an ASCnet presenter and will gladly come to a Chapter meeting and conduct a session.
